What about education excites you?

Education, for me, is a transformative journey. What excites me most is the profound impact it has on individuals’ lives. Witnessing students acquire knowledge and skills that empower them to navigate the complexities of the world and contribute meaningfully to society is incredibly fulfilling.

How did you become a teacher and find your way to Nations?

My journey to teaching at School of the Nations began unexpectedly. Initially hired as the Science Laboratory Technician, I gradually transitioned into the classroom, teaching IT and ICT. This opportunity arose through a recommendation from a departing colleague. My passion for teaching had its roots in leading youth and adult Bible classes, and I seamlessly transferred this passion to the vibrant environment at Nations.

How do you spend your free time?

My free time is dedicated to nurturing my family bonds. I cherish spending quality time with my wife and children, engaging in activities that strengthen our familial ties and foster values that we hold dear.

What do you love most about your job?

As Middle School Principal, what I love most is the opportunity to facilitate transformative learning experiences for students. Being able to create an environment where students thrive academically and personally, and witnessing their growth firsthand, is incredibly rewarding.

What was the last book you read?

My recent literary journey led me through the pages of Michael Fullan’s “The Principal,” which provided invaluable insights into effective educational leadership.

What TV shows do you like?

I find solace in watching crime thrillers such as CSI, NCIS, and Criminal Minds, among others. These shows not only entertain but also stimulate my analytical mind.

If you had to describe Nations to someone who didn’t know anything about the School, what would you say?

School of the Nations is a distinguished educational institution renowned for its unwavering commitment to academic excellence and innovative teaching methodologies. With over 27 years of experience, Nations stands as a beacon of educational prowess in Guyana. Notably, it is the sole provider of the prestigious Cambridge curriculum in the country, offering students a pathway to global recognition and success.
