Middle School English Teacher
School of the Nations, Guyana’s premier private school is seeking a Middle School English Teacher beginning in August 2024. Responsibilities include teaching Middle School English students in Forms 1 and 2 (Grades 7 and 8). Other duties, including—but not limited to—proctoring study halls, chaperoning, and committee work are integral to the role of Middle School faculty members.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate studies in English or a related field are required. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience teaching Middle and/or Upper School students. They will possess a commitment to using innovative pedagogical practices and technology to enhance instruction, as well as enthusiasm for young adult education. In addition, preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated enthusiasm for working with and teaching adolescents, a strong sense of school community and teamwork, and excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Health, Dental and Vision Insurance
School of the Nations provides health insurance to all our staff at no cost. Staff are free to add family members and the costs for them will be deducted from the staff salary.
Direct Deposit
School of the Nations pays all staff through monthly direct deposit payments made directly to the employer’s bank account.
Sick Pay
In Guyana the NIS will pay for sick days after day three. School of the Nations values our staff and wants them to be able to take sick time as needed and not be out of pocket. School of the Nations therefore pays the first 3 days that is not covered by NIS.
Communication Allowance
School of the Nations pays $5,000 per month tax free to our staff to facilitate telephone and internet requirements they may have.
Uniform Allowance
School of the Nations pays $20,000 per year tax free to our staff to reimburse them for uniform and clothing purchases made.
Leave Passage
At the discretion of the management team, School of the Nations pays up to one (1) month’s pay tax free to all employees in the form of Leave Passage.
Vacation Time
School of the Nations provides vacation time to its staff. For administrators and management staff twelve (12) days of vacation are provided after the first year of employment. For teaching/academic staff they are given vacation during the Summer, Winter and Spring vacations
Professional Development
School of the Nations is continually providing training opportunities for Professional Development. We open all our Nations University (put hyper link to University site) course to our staff at discounts up to 50%. At the discretion of the management team discounts greater than 50% are awarded in some cases.
