How did you become a teacher and find your way to Nations?

A close friend worked here and she got a scholarship to study abroad so she encouraged me to take her position as Administrative Manager for the University. At the time I had just moved back to Guyana and was not ready to take on a full-time job. After some persistence, I finally agree and I have been here ever since and worked in several different positions

What makes Nations a unique experience?

Nations has been a unique experience because of the family-like environment; the care and concern for each other outside of the classroom or office.

What is something you are excited about in your department this year at Nations?

New partnerships coming on board with international institutions to cater for the booming oil sector.

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about Nations?

Family

How do you spend your free time?

I enjoy spending my free time with my family. I also enjoy working out and a good afternoon run when I can make it home early enough.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Cool, calm and collected

What is one of your best Nations memories?

Many years ago, when I was teaching, the teaches surprised the students by wearing their old high school uniform to work. The children had a good laugh.

What does leadership mean to you?

Leadership means working with the team to achieve our goals; providing motivation, encouragement and support.

What are your favorite shows to watch on TV?

Law and Order SVU, the Big Bang Theory

Where do you want to travel but have never been?

Dubai

If you had to describe Nations to someone who didn’t know anything about the School, what would you say? ?

Nations is school that is committed to helping students discover their talents and working with them to develop them.
